Scala
Scala is a family-run Calabrian winery based in Cirò Marina, in the province of Crotone, at the heart of the Cirò DOC appellation. “Stewards of the land” is the motto of a family long devoted to agriculture, which today carries the winery forward with three generations of experience.
The winery was founded in 1949 by Antonio Scala, who converted an old farmhouse, preserving its original structure. The business continued with his son Luigi and is now led by his grandson Francesco, managing director and responsible for the entire production.
The family’s estate vineyards are farmed organically and host exclusively native varieties: Gaglioppo, Magliocco and Greco Bianco. The winery, recently restored, preserves the historic masonry wine vats, still used for maturing the reds, alongside concrete tanks and modern equipment.
The range includes Cirò DOC Rosso Classico, Cirò DOC Rosso Classico Superiore Riserva, Cirò DOC Bianco, Cirò DOC Rosato and Briseo, Rosso Calabria IGT.
Family tradition, native varieties and organic farming make Scala an authentic expression of Cirò and of Calabrian wine.
