Tenuta Cucco
Tenuta Cucco is a winery in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, that has grown around the historic Vigna Cucco, the estate's oldest vineyard, where the Rossi Cairo family produces Nebbiolo for Barolo with an approach inspired by organic and biodynamic farming. The cellar stands at the foot of the medieval castle of Serralunga d'Alba.
The small hamlet of Cucco and the Cerrati cru mark the easternmost outpost of Barolo. The vineyards, at around 400 meters above sea level, include the historic Vigna Cucco, part of the Cerrati cru, and the Bricco Voghera cru, both on the eastern slopes of the Serralunga ridge. The vines are farmed using certified organic methods.
The cellar was born around the infernot of a 19th-century farmhouse, today the historical heart of the estate together with the barrel cellar, and it safeguards a collection of old vintages. The grapes are hand-harvested into crates, parcel by parcel, and selected on a vibrating sorting table. The winemaker is Clara Milani.
The range includes four Barolos, including the Cerrati and Bricco Voghera crus, as well as Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, and an oak-aged Chardonnay.
Historic vineyards and deep respect for the terroir make Tenuta Cucco an authentic expression of Serralunga d'Alba Barolo.
