Founded in 1895 by the famous ampelographer Chrétien Oberlin, Domaine de la Ville de Colmar is unique in the Alsatian wine scene thanks to its centuries-old history and a privileged location in the heart of the famous French region. With 28 hectares the Domaine includes the 14-hectare Clos Saint-Jacques vineyard to the prestigious Hospices Civils Louis Pasteur de Colmar.

In such a rich and geologically articulated area, extraordinarily complex wines are produced such as Gewürztraminer Grand Cru with penetrating hints of citrus and flowers, with a compact palate finished by candied fruit and hay. Another wine to try is definitely the Riesling Florimont Grand Cru (90 pt JS) with a bright straw yellow color and an enchanting nose of dried apricot and lemon, then perfected by slight mineral touches. For sparkling wine lovers, even a refined Crémant d'Alsace made with Riesling grapes will be the right choice for moments of great class.
