Italian flag April 25th: thousands of Italian wines on promotion today. Ends in:

The La Torre farm was founded in 1976 by Giuseppe Ananìa. The newly acquired estate was little more than a ruin on top of a hill, immersed in a scrub of brambles, gorse and holm oaks. It was known for mushrooms, oil and elegant and fragrant wine.

As often happens in the case of old farms, a legend hovers over the historical name La Torre that tells of the treasure discovered by the Sassetti, one of the first owner families, found in the foundations of the tower. The family decided to destroy the tower and thanks to the booty to leave the countryside, to move to the charming Florence.

The wine that best embodies the vision of the family is perhaps Ampelio , born from a blend of three native red grapes, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Alicante: the name is a tribute to an old farmer friend who moved his hands like a painter in the care of the vine. , turning his work into a work of art.

But the flagship wine is certainly Brunello di Montalcino : a “traditional but not conservative” vinification that offers us a magnificent wine, which gives the nose aromas of wild berries with ethereal hints, memories of tobacco and sandalwood.

Both are treasures to be uncorked on special occasions.
