Ribolla Gialla, a white grape variety, is a jewel traditionally grown in Friuli Venezia Giulia, especially in the border area, from Rosazzo to San Floriano del Collio to Oslavia. Its origins may be Dalmatian, since this grape variety is present under the name Rebula along the coasts of Lower Dalmatia and in the Ionian Islands, particularly in Kefalonia. It arrived in Friuli via Venetian ports of call, finding in this land sunny hillside exposures and dry, draining soils that favour its best expression.
