Pinotage is undoubtedly the most famous red grape variety in the nation, as well as the only native one, born from the cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut, it gives life to red wines of character and elegance. International varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah are also very widespread. As regards white grape varieties, French grapes are the most widespread including Chénin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Viognier.

South African wines are very interesting and easy to appreciate. white wines are often characterized by delicate aromas, lots of freshness and acidity, a relatively light body and good drinkability, while reds are full-bodied, rich, with fruity aromas.
