Description
Esporão Reserva Tinto is a red wine made exclusively from organic grapes grown in the vineyards of Herdade do Esporão, in Alentejo. Produced with a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Cabernet Sauvignon, it represents the perfect synthesis of the diversity of the granitic-clayey soils and the maturity of the vines, offering a rich, intense and balanced wine.
The winemaking process includes manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by an optical selection of the berries. Each variety is vinified separately with destemming and crushing, controlled alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, cement vats and small marble lagars, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel tanks. The aging takes place for 12 months in new and second passage American and French oak barrels, with further aging of at least six months in the bottle before commercialization.
It presents itself with an intense ruby color. The bouquet is dominated by aromas of ripe berries, blackberries and plums, accompanied by elegant spicy notes of cinnamon and licorice. On the palate, it stands out for its richness and elegance, with flavors of berries and sweet spices, combined with harmonious freshness and a persistent and well-balanced finish.
It pairs perfectly with roast red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
