Description
What kind of wine is it?
Ca’ Brione by Nino Negri is a mountain white wine from the Rhaetian Alps, born on the Valtellina hills at the foot of the Rhaetian Alps. It blends Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Incrocio Manzoni and Nebbiolo vinified as a white, delivering a full yet measured profile supported by good acidity and a clear mineral mark.
Where does it come from?
It originates in Valtellina, on the right bank of the Adda River, in an alpine setting that contributes to aromatic clarity and a tauter sip. The bond with the valley and the river axis defines the wine’s identity, an expression of mountain hills and the character of the Rhaetian Alps.
How is it made?
The grapes are given a slight withering and then pressed; the Nebbiolo vinified as a white is processed without extracting color. The must is statically decanted and ferments in steel tanks; maturation continues in the same containers, resting on fine lees for at least six months to achieve a clean and balanced style.
Tasting notes
In the glass it appears straw yellow with greenish highlights. The nose perceives elderflower, peach and ripe pear, followed by hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the sip is full and smooth, balancing acidity and minerality with good persistence and a tidy finish.
What does it pair with?
It naturally pairs with fresh cheeses, white meats, raw fish and shellfish. The freshness and mineral component support delicate dishes without overpowering them, while the persistence smoothly accompanies the natural sweetness of fish and shellfish.
When to serve it
It is ideal when you want a mountain white with a clear and coherent profile, perfect for accompanying the meal from start to finish. The lees aging in steel for at least six months preserves aromatic clarity and balance, highlighting freshness and persistence.
