Description
What kind of wine is it
Alta Langa Brut Ruj di San Silvestro is a Classic Method sparkling wine, made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown on the Piedmont hills. A thirty-month aging on the lees shapes a fresh and complex profile, with a fine and persistent perlage. Notes of toasted bread, exotic fruit and white flowers emerge clearly and the sip offers balance and good structure.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from Alta Langa, a hilly area situated between Piedmont and Liguria. This zone has a longstanding tradition for producing quality sparkling wines thanks to its favorable environmental conditions.
How is it made
The second fermentation in the bottle follows the rules of the Classic Method, with 30 months of aging on the lees.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow color with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, notes of acacia, tropical fruits such as pineapple and lychee, and slight hints of toasted bread emerge. On the palate, it shows freshness, vibrant acidity, and a smooth structure. The finish is long and savory, with echoes of bread crust and almond.
Food pairings
It pairs well with seafood appetizers, fish carpaccio and seafood risottos. Its acidity also complements richer dishes such as pasta with Genovese pesto. Excellent with fritto misto alla piemontese, where the savory notes of the wine enhance the crispness of fried food and vegetables.
When to serve
It is advisable to enjoy Alta Langa Brut Ruj when young to appreciate its freshness and lively perlage. Serve at 6°C-8°C to highlight its balance, minerality, and yeast notes.
