Südtirol - Alto Adige DOC Malanders 2014 Pitzner

The Malanders was born inside Tenuta Pitzner, located in Caldaro, on the rolling hills of South Tyrol.

This wine is made by assembling mainly with Schiava and Lagrein grapes, harvested entirely by hand. After a soft pressing at controlled temperature, 35% of the must is left to rest in first use tonneaux and the remaining 65% in third passage barriques, for at least 8 months. This is to develop and let stabilize all the organoletic aspects of the product.

Malanders is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose has an elegant and fresh aroma of black cherry, accompanied by toasted notes, with flavors of bitter cocoa, coffee beans and black pepper on the finish. On the palate it immediately stands out for its freshness, guided by a character rich in tannins which makes it a very long-lived wine.

Perfect with appetizers, fresh cheeses and typical Trentino slices.
