Description
The Baronesse is a Moscato Giallo Passito produced by Nals Margreid, from vineyards located near Magrè, at altitudes between 220 and 350 meters above sea level. The vines, facing south and southeast, grow on white limestone gravel soils rich in humus and well-aerated. The Mediterranean climate of the area, with very hot summers and the influence of the Ora wind coming from Lake Garda, promotes optimal ripening of the aromatic grapes.
The grapes are hand-picked in small crates and left to dry for five months in traditional rooms called “camoreri”. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in oak barriques, where the wine subsequently ages for twelve months on fine lees, and further for at least six months in the bottle.
In appearance, it shows an orange-yellow color with excellent compactness. On the nose, intense notes of syrupy fruit, peach, pineapple, and candied fruit stand out. On the palate, it is very long, with great balance, nice aromatic tension, and a persistent final minerality.
It is ideally paired with creamy desserts or panna cotta.
