Description

Comtess Passito from the Sanct Valentin line by San Michele Appiano is made from Gewürztraminer grapes grown in Alto Adige, in vineyards situated on gravelly and calcareous soils with favorable exposures. The “passito” style comes from the natural drying of the grapes, often left on the vine until late ripeness, to concentrate sugars and aromas.

After drying, the grapes are pressed and the must ferments slowly; aging takes place both in steel and in small wooden barrels, helping to develop complexity and harmony over time.

In the glass, it displays an intense amber color; the nose shows notes of dried apricot, ripe exotic fruit, and acacia honey, while the palate is opulent, soft, and concentrated, supported by a lively freshness that balances its sweetness.

Perfect paired with blue cheeses and fruit-based desserts.
