Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Fondatore 2008 Montresor
Description
The Founder Amarone Classico represents one of the Cru of the Montresor company. It sees the light in the oldest area of Valpolicella, in vineyards located about 300 meters high with southern exposure.
It is mainly produced with Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes, harvested at the end of October and left to dry on racks in the barns of the local farmhouses for 4 months. After drying, the grapes are pressed and left on the skins for more than 30 days. Finally, the wine is left to rest for 3 years in French and Slavonian oak barrels and barrels. Finally, a final refinement in bottle for 6 months follows before being marketed.
It is characterized by a garnet red color, very intense. The nose shows a remarkable aromatic delicacy, with notes of peach flowers that blend very well with ripe fruit and spices. The flavor is full and warm, with a well-present but smooth tannin and an aftertaste of almond and blackberry.
Excellent with very tasty meat dishes and well-aged cheeses, it gives great satisfaction also as a meditation wine.
