Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOP Vaio Armaron Serego Alighieri 2012 Masi
Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vaio Armaron Serego Alighieri from 1353 by Masi was born in vineyards located in Casal dei Ronchi, still owned by the Counts Serego Alighieri, descendants of the Supreme Poet Dante, in the heart of the DOCG Amarone della Valpolicella.
It is mainly produced with Corvina and Rondinella and Molinara grapes, harvested and selected strictly by hand, then dried for about 120 days in order to concentrate the sugars. Fermentation takes place traditionally in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Subsequently the wine ages for 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels and for another 4 months in cherry barrels, before being bottled.
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vaio Armaron is characterized by a deep and brilliant ruby red color. The nose opens with an intense and complex bouquet, with aromas of overripe cherries and cooked plums. On the palate it is a wine with an apparent sweetness, of extraordinary strength and complexity, aristocratic and elegant, with notes of cherry and berries combined with spicy hints of cinnamon and vanilla.
Perfect to accompany roasts and stewed meats, it is ideal in combination with game and highly seasoned cheeses.
