Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Collezione 2018 Bertani
Description
Bertani's Bertani Collection Amarone della Valpolicella is born in vineyards located on the hills of Valpantena and Tenuta Novare.
It is produced with Corvina Veronese and Rondinella grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand in mid-September. The bunches are placed to dry in the lofts of the Grezzana winery. After being de-stemmed and crushed, the grapes are fermented, which takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20-22 ° C for 2 weeks. The second fermentation, review, takes place on the Amarone skins, after which the wine is aged in Veronese French oak barrels for 9 months. Part of the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels, with an average capacity of 25 hl, and a small part in barriques for about 30 months. Bottling is followed by an aging period of at least six months.
The wine has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose opens with intense aromas of ripe cherry, black cherry, berries as well as notes of spices and cocoa. On the palate it is full and harmonious, with a long and savory finish.
Perfect to accompany savory first courses, in particular risotto with porcini mushrooms, this red wine is ideal in combination with grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
