Description
Prinsi's Barbaresco Riserva Fausoni was born on the hills of Neive, in the Langhe. The farm has now existed for 3 generations, since the 1940s, when Ottavio Lequio began producing wine. The company mainly grows Nebbiolo grapes in vineyards located in the Barbaresco crus Gaia Principe, Gallina, Fausoni and Basarin.
The Nebbiolo grapes are destemmed and pressed, to then be vinified with maceration in thermo-controlled steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wood. The wine ages for 48 months in large French and Slavonian oak barrels.
Garnet red in colour, it expresses a broad bouquet of berries, licorice, tobacco, cocoa and tar on the nose. The sip is structured and concentrated, with sweet and elegant tannins.
Ideal in combination with braised meats, stewed wild boar and game.
