Description
The Barbera d'Alba of the Seghesio winery comes from vineyards located in the Monforte d'Alba area, defined by land with a prevalence of calcareous and clayey marl.
The harvest takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October. The alcoholic fermentation of the must lasts about 8-10 days and is followed by malolactic fermentation. 50% of the aging takes place in 30 hl wooden barrels and the remaining 50% in second passage barriques, for a total period of 13 months. A further period of aging in the bottle makes the wine ready for marketing.
Its color is bright purple red. The perfume turns to fruity tones of raspberry and blueberry, placed on a pleasantly floral background. In the mouth the tannin and freshness are well integrated and in balance with a full body. Excellent olfactory taste correspondence; persists in a pleasant fruit finish.
To be combined with starters of cold cuts or first courses, it goes particularly well with ravioli del plin with a vegetable filling.
