Description
Barolo Cannubi is produced by the Pira e Figli-Chiara Boschis company, located in Barolo. Chiara leads the company and is known as the "Barolo girl", as she was part, the only woman, of the Barolo Boys group of the 80s together with other big names in Barolo such as Elio Altare, Roberto Voerzio or Giorgio Rivetti. In those years they promoted the relaunch of Barolo wine in the world and the diversification of the production method, and led to the opposition between modernists (aging in barriques) and traditionalists (large barrels) of Barolo.
The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, vinified in steel tanks. The wine then ages in barrique for at least 24 months, followed by 12 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in colour, the wine reveals fruity aromas with spicy and toasted hints. The sip is fresh and powerful, with powerful and well integrated tannins.
Excellent in combination with braised meats and aged cheeses.
