Description
Cascina Fontana is a family business that has been cultivating vineyards in the Langhe for generations. The winery is located in Perno, near the municipality of Monforte d'Alba and manages 5 hectares of vineyards in some of the most prestigious areas of the appellation, with parcels in the most popular crus of Castiglione Falletto and La Morra.
This Barolo comes from the best bunches of different vineyards grown in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto. At the end of fermentation, the wine ages for 48 months in large barrels, before completing the refinement in the bottle.
It is a great traditional Barolo, still made according to the old customs of the Langhe. Garnet in color, on the nose it expresses delicate floral notes, officinal herbs, spicy hints and aromas of small red fruits. Austere and structured, it has a deep sip, with dense tannins and a fresh and persistent finish.
To be paired with stews, braised meats and game.
