Barolo Bricco Boschis DOCG 2013 Cavallotto
Description
The Barolo Bricco Boschis di Cavallotto originates in the Piedmontese area of the Langhe, known for its extraordinary wine-growing vocation.
More precisely, it is made up of 100% Nebbiolo grapes from three different parcels in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto: the Colle Sud-Ovest vineyard, the Punta Marcello vineyard and the San Giuseppe vineyard. They are part of the Bricco Boschis cru, which gives its name to this Barolo. The harvest takes place in October, so as to allow the tannin to slightly smoothen its aggressiveness. The maceration and fermentation, which takes place by the action of indigenous yeasts, have a rather long duration and are followed by a period of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels which is around 3 years. A further 6 months of maturation in the bottle make it ready to be marketed.
Its color is garnet red. The floral notes reminiscent of rose, violet and hibiscus dominate the perfume and intertwine with the fruity ones of cherry and raspberry, on a licorice finish. In the mouth it reveals great freshness and flavor, which streamline a very full and elegant body.
Perfect to combine with Piedmontese boiled meats.
