Description
The Barolo Riserva Bussia 90 Days by Giacomo Fenocchio is made from Nebbiolo grapes of the Michet, Lampia, and Rosè sub-varieties, grown in a hilly area at about 300 meters above sea level, facing southwest. The Elvezian soil, rich in iron and composed of clay and limestone sediments, gives the wine great structure and depth. The vines, with an average age of 30 years, give rise to a complex and long-lasting expression of Barolo.
The winemaking is based on traditional methods, with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and a long submerged cap maceration that can last up to 90 days. The wine ages for six months in steel and subsequently matures for four years in large oak barrels from Slavonia, with further aging in the bottle. This process enhances the aromatic richness and complexity of the Nebbiolo.
It appears garnet red with orange highlights. The bouquet is intense and typical of the variety, with notes of rose, truffle, and leather. On the palate, it opens with hints of black cherry, spices, truffle, and balsamic herbs. The tannins are fine and velvety, the structure is deep, and the taste persistence is long and elegant, reflecting the nobility of a great Barolo Riserva.
Ideal with red meats, game, and aged cheeses from the Piedmontese tradition.
