Description
Barolo Bussia by Simone Scaletta is a highly prestigious red wine, produced in the heart of the Langhe, in the hilly area of the municipality of Monforte d’Alba. Made from pure Nebbiolo grapes, it represents one of the most noble and identity-defining expressions of the Piedmont territory. The southern exposure and the complex soils, composed of clay, silt, and sand, contribute to creating a structured, elegant, and long-lived wine.
Vinification includes a maceration with the skins in temperature-controlled vats for about seven days, followed by alcoholic fermentation in steel for ten days. Subsequently, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak barrels for two months at a constant temperature. Aging continues in wood for about 30 months in total, followed by decantation in steel and bottling without filtration. Finally, the bottles rest in the cellar for several months before commercialization.
Visually, it presents an intense red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, there are fresh aromas of small red fruits, undergrowth, and withered rose, enriched with balsamic and spicy notes. On the palate, it is rich and complex, with fine tannins and a marked acidity that provide refined elegance and perfect balance, an authentic reflection of its terroir.
Ideal with red meat dishes, braised meats, roasts, and aged cheeses.
