Description

Mascarello's Barolo Monprivato is the flagship label of this famous Langhe winery, which has been involved in viticulture in this splendid corner of Piedmont for over a century and a half. The grapes come from the historic Monprivato Vineyard, a 6-hectare property located in the municipal area of Castiglione Falletto, at an altitude of 280 meters, with a sunny exposure facing south.

The soils, made up of clayey-silty marl rich in limestone and the mild and ventilated microclimate, constitute the ideal habitat for Nebbiolo. The fermentation takes place with a period of maceration on the skins of about three weeks. Before bottling, the wine rests for about 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

Garnet red, intense and fruity, it gives floral, spicy and small red fruit aromas. The sip is structured, deep and complex, with a persistent, fresh and elegant finish.

To be paired with roasted red meats and stewed game.
