Description
This Barolo Riserva from Negretti is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the prestigious Bricco Ambrogio cru in Roddi and Bettolotti in La Morra, in vineyards located between 230 and 270 meters above sea level with a south-east exposure. The area, characterized by marl, clay and sandy soils, gives the wine a distinctive profile and great aging potential.
Vinification involves fermentation on the skins for 25-30 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine then ages for 36 months in large Austrian oak barrels, a process that contributes to its structure and complexity.
On the nose, intense notes of dog rose, vanilla, and sweet licorice emerge, leading to a broad, concentrated sip full of personality. The flavor profile is balanced by well-integrated tannins and a freshness that lends elegance and longevity. The finish is long, complex, and remarkably persistent.
Ideal paired with rich dishes based on red meats or game.
