Barolo Rocche di Castiglione Riserva DOCG 2009 Sordo
Description
The Barolo Riserva Rocche di Castiglione di Sordo was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, in the province of Cuneo.
It is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with maceration in contact with the skins for 4-6 weeks according to the vintage. Subsequently the wine ages for 6 months in steel and for 24-48 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, before being marketed.
The Barolo Riserva Rocche di Castiglione di Sordo has an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with a large and persistent bouqet, with hints of licorice, mint and ripe red fruit, which leave room with time to hints of resin and sweet spices. On the palate it is full and well structured, with a perfect balance between acidity and tannins.
Excellent with roasts, this wine is ideal to accompany all game dishes.
