Description

This Barolo from Vietti is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes, cultivated in small but selected vineyards located in various communes of the Barolo area. The vines are between 10 and 45 years old and grow on clay-limestone soils. The care in vineyard management and the attention to enhancing the different terroirs give this wine an authentic and well-defined territorial identity.

The vinification takes place separately for each cru, with customized techniques to enhance their peculiarities. After gentle pressing, the fermentation takes place over 3-4 weeks in steel tanks in contact with the skins, including pre and post-fermentative maceration with submerged cap. The malolactic fermentation is completed in wood. The aging lasts about 30 months in large casks, with a small part in barrique, before the final blending and bottling.

In appearance, it shows a medium intensity ruby red. The aroma is rich and expressive, with intense notes of plum, ripe red and black cherry, blackberry, sour cherry, rose petal, and tobacco. On the palate, it is structured, powerful, and balanced, with a well-integrated balsamic and spicy component and elegant tannins that contribute to the depth and persistence of the sip.

It pairs excellently with braised beef, stewed game, or aged hard cheeses.
