Description

Barolo Ravera by G.D. Vajra is a great red wine from Piedmont, made exclusively from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the prestigious Ravera cru vineyard. This vineyard is situated on marl-clay and mineral-rich soils on the hills of the Langhe, in one of the best-suited areas of the Barolo denomination, imparting tension, structure and finesse to Nebbiolo's varietal expression.

The winemaking follows traditional methods with controlled and extended fermentation on the skins to extract structure and complex aromas, followed by a long aging in large wooden barrels to help the tannins mature and evolve the typical aromas of a great Barolo.

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red color; the aromatic profile is intense and multi-layered, with notes of ripe red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and black cherry, spices, dried herbs, tobacco, and mineral hints of iron and graphite. On the palate, it stands out for its vibrant acidity, dense and elegant tannins, and a long, savory, and spicy finish.

It pairs beautifully with braised beef, hearty game dishes and aged hard cheeses.
