Description

Charles Melton's Nine Popes is born in vineyards located in the Barossa Valley.

It is produced with a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre grapes. The vinification takes place partly with an initial internal cluster maceration, partly with a maceration of almost whole berries. The wine ages in French oak barrels for 24-28 months.

Intense ruby red in color, it reveals hints of goudron, red rose, notes of flint and spices to the nose. The taste is structured and soft, with silky tannins and a long persistence.

Perfect to accompany important cooking of red meats and roasted and stewed game, as well as aged cheeses.
