Bâtard-Montrachet AOC 2017 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard
Description
Montrachet Hill was once an uncultivated expanse. Today it represents one of the iconic places of the wine-growing Burgundy, which signs the painting of a unique terroir with the elegant trait of Chardonnay.
After gentle pressing of the grapes, fermentation is triggered only by indigenous yeasts. Once the malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine ages for 18 months in mostly new oak barrels.
It is a straw yellow color. The nose opens on notes of white peach, jasmine and an intriguing chalky texture, reminiscent of the scent of wet rocks. The taste is dry, soft, well managed in a millimetric balance, which persists in the savory wake of a mineral imprint.
Excellent to accompany a flan of asparagus and parmesan.
