Description

Bolgheri Superiore Opheliah Maria is one of the three cru of Tenuta Argentiera, dedicated to the three young offspring of the Fratini family. This wine is born in the vineyards located in the splendid setting of the Bolgheri DOC, near Castagneto Carducci.

It is produced exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, coming from a single grape variety and harvested by hand in October. The fermentation and maturation processes on the skins are carried out in conical steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 28 ° C and 30 ° C. Afterwards, the wine passes into French Allier and Tronçais oak barriques, where, after finishing the malolactic fermentation, the evolutionary phase lasts 20 months. Then follows an aging in bottle for at least 12 months before being marketed.

It has a bright ruby red color. The nose immediately amazes for the memories of Mediterranean vegetation that brings helichrysum and juniper on all; then follow notes of fresh red fruit and spicy hints of pepper, with a finish in which balsamic sensations dominate the scene. In the mouth, the acid and mineral characteristics, typical of the Tenuta Argentiera terroir, are enhanced. The body, despite the large structure, is agile and has a dense tannic texture that tends to soften in the finish, leaving good margins for future evolution.

Perfect in combination with grilled red meats, roasts and game, it is also excellent to accompany well-aged cheeses.
