Description

Bolgheri Rosso Peàn by Batzella takes its name from a poetic genre, the pèana, a hymn dedicated to the god APollo and taken from a poem by Gabriele d'Annunzio.

The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. The grapes are vinified in steel vats at a controlled temperature for 12–18 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques. It is then aged for at least 12 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux and for at least 12 months in the bottle.

Intense ruby red colour, the nose reveals hints of ripe red fruits, spices and cocoa, with an elegant woody note. The taste is wide and fresh, with soft tannins and a long persistence.

To be combined with rich appetizers of cold cuts and cheeses, tagliatelle with pigeon ragout and grilled meats.
