Description
This Bolgheri is an elegant and structured red wine, produced by Viticcio in the vineyards of Castagneto Carducci. It is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, grown on sandy and sandstone soils at 30 meters above sea level, facing south and southwest. The vines, trained in Guyot and spurred cordon, are between 10 and 15 years old.
Vinification involves alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at 28-30°C and a maceration lasting 15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in 225-liter barriques, followed by an additional 6 months in steel, to integrate structure and freshness.
In appearance, it presents an intense ruby red color. The olfactory profile is bold and complex, with hints of coffee, cocoa, and black cherry, overtones of wet earth. On the palate, it is powerful and savory, with pronounced tannins that blend into a fresh and fruity finish.
It pairs excellently with structured meat dishes, roasts, game, and aged cheeses.
