Description

Bolgheri Rosso Ca 'Marcanda is the most important wine of Angelo Gaja's Bolgheri estate. The famous Piedmontese producer, in the 90s, chose to expand his sphere of interest to Tuscany, choosing this wonderful territory to produce great wines.

The mild and very bright climate of the Tuscan coast proved to be ideal especially for the Bordeaux vines, which express themselves with a mature Mediterranean profile. The Ca 'Marcanda label is made with a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, grown in the vineyards near via Bolgherese. The three varieties are vinified separately, following the different harvest periods. The wine ages for 18 months in French oak barriques and ages for another 12 months in the bottle.

It expresses the mature elegance of great grapes, with a dark red color and aromas of black currants, cherries, wild blackberries, delicate spices, hints of undergrowth, bitter cocoa and freshly ground coffee. Harmonious and soft, it offers a rich sip, which closes in a fresh and balanced way.

To be paired with Florentine steak, Chianina cut or roast game.
