Description

What kind of wine is it

Bourgogne by Alain Michelot is a red wine from Burgundy made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. It ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature up to 30 °C and matures for 18 months in oak barrels. The profile remains fresh and structured, with well-defined dark fruit, balanced spice, and a mineral finish.

Where does it come from

It comes from vineyards located in the heart of Burgundy, a historic French region where Pinot Noir clearly expresses its connection to the land. The regional origin is reflected in a linear and consistent style, balancing aromatic intensity and palate tension, true to the identity of Bourgogne.

How is it produced

The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. The winemaking process involves fermentation in stainless steel vats at a maximum temperature of 30 °C to preserve aromatic precision and control extraction. This is followed by 18 months of aging in oak barrels, which helps define the wine’s texture and stability before release.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows a dark ruby red color. On the nose, notes of plum and blackberry come through, alongside elegant spicy notes. The palate is fresh and smooth, supported by good roundness; the tannins are chalky and the finish leaves a pleasant, lingering mineral sensation.

Food pairings

At the table, it pairs well with truffle and cured meats, thanks to its freshness and chalky tannins. It is also suitable for risottos and white meats, especially chicken and turkey, where its structure is well balanced. In French cuisine, it can accompany coq au vin, complementing the dark fruit and spice.

When to serve it

This is a versatile red for lunches and dinners, from cheese and charcuterie boards to pasta and white meats. The combination of freshness and roundness also makes it easy to enjoy in more informal settings while retaining definition. It is best appreciated if served correctly and allowed to breathe in the glass, so the bouquet and finish become more vivid.
