Description
The Bourgogne Côte d'Or Clos du Moulin by Michel Bouzereau & Fils is a Chardonnay from a one-hectare clos located in the village of Meursault, at the foot of the renowned climats Les Chevalières and Les Petits Charrons. The vines, with an average age of about forty years, surround an ancient mill and are cultivated according to biodynamic principles on a terroir at the start of the hillside that gives the wine remarkable complexity and aromatic depth.
The winemaking process involves slow pressing of the grapes, followed by primary and malolactic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, without the addition of sulfites. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, 15% of which are new, followed by an additional 4-5 months in vats, allowing the wine to harmonize and develop its balanced structure.
In appearance, it has a bright golden yellow color. The nose reveals delicate buttery and toasted aromas, accompanied by notes of white flowers, white-fleshed fruit, and citrus. On the palate, it is broad and saline, with a concentration and balance that make it crisp and energetic, reflecting the typical elegance of great Meursaults.
It pairs perfectly with dishes such as sole meunière, fried fish, or aged cheeses like 24-month Comté.
