Description
Brunello di Montalcino Martoccia is produced with pure Sangiovese grapes produced on slightly hilly soils.
At an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, the harvest is carried out in mid-October and, once in the cellar, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed to start fermentation in contact with the skins. After 30 days and the malolactic fermentation, the wine ages 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels and a part in French oak barrels with consequent refinement in the bottle for eight months.
Bright ruby red in color tending towards garnet, it prepares the nose with a rich bouquet of cherry, plum and sweet spices. On the palate the body is dense without lacking a lively acidity that still releases fragrant red fruits. Excellent aging potential along the finish.
