Description
Angelo Gaja's desire to compete also with other famous territories outside Piedmont led him to acquire an estate in one of the most renowned places in Tuscany. The Pieve Santa Restituta farm is located on the southwestern slope of the Montalcino hill, above Sant'Angelo in Colle.
The Sugarille vineyard represents a real cru, which due to the sunny exposure and the calcareous-clayey soils is particularly suitable for Sangiovese. A fermentation with maceration on the skins is followed by a period of maturation of a few years in wood of different sizes, before the final refinement in the bottle for about a year.
Elegant and complex, it is a Brunello with a beautiful ruby color, reminiscent of the aromas of morello cherry, nuances of violet, hints of undergrowth and spices. Clear and flowing, it has a fine tannic texture and very persistent aromas.
To be paired with game on the spit and cut of beef.
