Description
The Brunello di Montalcino from Villa Poggio Salvi is made from Sangiovese grosso grapes grown at altitudes between 350 and 500 meters, in large-structured galestro soils facing southwest. The winery, adjacent to the vineyards, allows for immediate processing of the freshly harvested grapes, preserving the freshness and integrity of the fruit to the fullest.
The winemaking process involves a cold pre-maceration lasting 8 days at 12°C, followed by fermentation in steel tanks at 28°C with automatic punch-downs. The wine matures for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels of various sizes, followed by at least 4 months in the bottle to achieve optimal balance.
Ruby red in color, it expresses intense aromas of red fruit and floral nuances on the nose. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, with elegant and well-polished tannins, accompanied by a long-lasting taste persistence that enhances its evolutionary potential.
Perfect with grilled meats, game, aged cheeses, and dishes enriched with truffles.
