Description

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is produced by the Fagnani company, whose vineyards for the production of typical Tuscan reds extend over 4 hectares. The Fagnani wine labels, dedicated to the village of Montalcino, are signed by the artists Daniele Cestari and Luca Greghi.

The Sangiovese grapes are harvested manually at the end of September. The harvest is followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature for 20–25 days, with frequent pumping over and delestage. Ageing follows in small Slavonian oak barrels and in French oak barrels for about 36 months. The wine rests for 4 months in the bottle and is put on the market from the sixth year following the harvest.

Intense ruby red colour with garnet hues, on the nose the wine opens on violet and broom aromas, cherry, blueberry, raspberry, with final spicy notes. The taste is warm and dry, shows smooth tannins and a long persistence.

Ideal in combination with roasted red meats and game, but also with aged cheeses.
