Description
The red wine È Iss by Tenuta San Francesco is obtained from pure Tintore di Tramonti grapes, hand-selected from centuries-old and pre-phylloxera vines grown on steep terraced land in the heart of Tramonti, on the Amalfi Coast. The vines, grown with the traditional pergola system, are located at an altitude of between 300 and 600 meters above sea level, benefiting from a cool climate with strong temperature variations. The calcareous-dolomitic soil, enriched by volcanic pyroclastics, gives the wine an extraordinary minerality and complexity.
The harvest takes place between the end of October and the first ten days of November, with a vinification in steel that preserves the typicality of the vine. The refinement continues for a period of between 18 and 24 months in oak barrels, followed by a further six months in the bottle before being marketed, guaranteeing a perfect balance between structure and freshness.
It has an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The bouquet is deep and elegant, with notes of undergrowth, ash, graphite and wild blackberry. On the palate it is vibrant and savory, with a full structure and velvety tannins that enhance its strong and authentic character. The finish is long and persistent, confirming its extraordinary aging potential.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, game and mature cheeses, enhancing their flavours with its intensity and complexity.
