Description
The Póker de Tintos by Encomienda de Cervera is a red wine produced in the Macizo Volcánico del Campo de Calatrava, in Almagro, Spain. The grapes come from vineyards located on clay and stony volcanic soils, at an altitude influenced by the Jabalón River. The blend is composed of Petit Verdot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Graciano.
The wine ages for ten months in French oak barrels, a process that imparts elegance and depth to the product. The wood enhances the wine's structure without overshadowing the fruit intensity, highlighting the varietal peculiarities and the complexity of the volcanic terroir.
In appearance, it shows an intense and vibrant tone, with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by fruity notes, especially of Syrah and Petit Verdot, accompanied by well-integrated woody nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and complex, with good persistence and a finish reminiscent of licorice.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, grills, stews, and dishes with intense or spicy sauces.
