Description

This exclusive box contains the Bolgheri Bell'Aja (92 points out of 100 Wine Spectator), excellence that comes from the recent and homonymous vineyard and represents the umpteenth chapter of the San Felice winery, after Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti, in a prestigious wine area of Tuscan wine. It is obtained with only proprietary grapes from the 6 hectares of the vineyard located in Le Sondraie. It consists of a blend of 60% Merlot grapes, complemented by a 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. At the end of the canonical fermentation period, it undergoes an aging of 12 months in French oak barriques.

Purplish red in color, it has an olfactory texture reminiscent of wild berry jam and notes of sweet spices. On the palate it is harmonious and pleasant, with soft and enveloping tannins. It goes well with game and red meats.

The other wine is the famous Chianti Classico Riserva Il Grigio (3 Glasses Gambero Rosso, 94 points out of 100 James Suckling, 92 out of 100 Robert Parker, as well as 91 points out of 100 Wine Spectator) which comes from a selection of Sangiovese grapes, the which are fermented and left to mature for 24 months in wood, part of which in barrique. After fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and a part in French oak barrels.

Deep ruby red in color, it opens to the nose with an intense aroma of violet and red berries. In the mouth it is full-bodied and austere, with juicy tannins that support a juicy acidity. It is enriched with an aromatic complexity given by a wise use of wood. Excellent to accompany a cut of beef, grilled meats and roasted pigeon.
