Description
Pegaso Granito is a red wine produced by Telmo Rodríguez in the village of Cebreros, in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, made exclusively from Garnacha grapes sourced from two selected plots: El Robledillo and El Mojón. The vines, very old and low yielding, are grown following organic farming principles and are hand-harvested in crates to preserve the fruit's integrity.
Vinification occurs with indigenous yeasts and the wine is aged for a period between 18 and 24 months in French oak barrels sourced from different forests. This long aging process allows the wine to develop complexity and harmony, respecting the grape variety's and the terroir's characteristics. The soils are granitic, of magmatic origin, shallow, and with low water retention capacity, situated at an altitude between 800 and 1000 meters.
In the glass, it presents a vertical and vibrant profile, with present but well-integrated tannins, supported by a lively freshness. Intense notes of wild berries, sloes, and blueberries emerge on the nose and palate, accompanied by delicate floral and mountain herb hints, for a balanced and juicy tasting experience.
It pairs magnificently with grilled red meats or roasted game.
