Description
What kind of wine it is
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo by Cirelli is a rosé made from Montepulciano grapes only, grown in Abruzzo Teramano. The winemaking technique for rosé involves a brief maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by steel ageing on the fine lees. The result is an easy-drinking profile focused on fruit, with clear freshness and a distinct savoriness that define its style.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in the Abruzzo Teramano area, influenced by sea breezes. This environment supports a profile focused on freshness and savoriness, evident in the lively sipping pace and the sharp finish. The Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo designation highlights the rosé vinification of Montepulciano, keeping a recognisable identity in its intense colour and fruity imprint.
How it is made
The Montepulciano grapes are harvested and destined for rosé vinification. After harvest, the grapes undergo short maceration, extracting colour and aroma without building the structure of a red wine. Fermentation occurs in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, then the wine remains about four months in steel in contact with the fine lees before bottling.
Tasting notes
In the glass it has a deep rosy cherry colour. The nose reveals notes of cherry and wild strawberry, with a hit of pepper brightening up the bouquet. The palate is pleasant and fruit-driven, supported by vibrant freshness; the finish features lively savoriness that cleans the palate and invites you to keep sipping.
Food pairings
On the table, it pairs perfectly with seafood spaghetti. Fruit, freshness and a defined savoriness support the marine components of the dish and amplify its succulence, keeping the flavour of the sea in the spotlight. The aromatics, focused on cherry and berries, provide contrast while ensuring each sip remains clean and linear.
When to serve it
This Cerasuolo is designed for shared moments and meals, perfect when you want a deeply coloured rosé that is easy to drink. Its fruity character, matched with freshness and savoriness, helps keep the palate lively throughout the meal. It is appreciated for its immediacy, not needing particular ageing to deliver balance.
