Description
La Closerie Les Béguines Extra Brut is a Champagne Blanc de Noirs produced by Jérôme Prévost in the Gueux area, at the foot of the Petite Montagne de Reims. Sourced from a single plot of 2.2 hectares called Les Béguines, this Champagne is made exclusively from Pinot Meunier grapes, vinified in purity. The artisanal approach and attention to terroir make this wine an authentic and refined expression of its place of origin.
The grapes, hand-picked at full ripeness, undergo a gentle pressing before spontaneously fermenting in small French oak barrels, where they remain for about ten months. Subsequently, the wine ages on the lees for a period of 30 months before disgorgement. The final dosage is minimal, to keep the purity and structure of the wine intact.
In the glass, it presents a fine and persistent bubble, expressing intense aromas of ripe fruit, candied citrus, notes of sweet spices, and a delicate smoky hint on the nose. On the palate, it is full and structured, with an enveloping texture, a beautiful savoriness, and a long finish that reveals increasing elegance and complexity over time.
Perfect when paired with dishes based on smoked fish or steamed shellfish.
