Description
The Chianti Classico Villa Calcinaia dei Conti Capponi was born in vineyards located in Greve in Chianti, in the Chianti Classico area.
It is produced 90% with Sangiovese grapes and 10% with Canaiolo grapes, both from the oldest company vineyards, dating back to the 1960s. The grapes are handpicked between September and October and fermented in stainless steel. The wine then ages partly in Slavonian oak barrels and partly in cement tanks.
Villa Calcinaia is a ruby red wine with garnet reflections. The nose opens with strong fruity hints of cherry and ripe fruit. In the mouth it is well balanced, with a good flavor and a pleasantly persistent aftertaste. Overall it is a wine with a good structure.
Perfect to accompany red and roasted meats, it is ideal in combination with game.
