Description

The classic Chianti Castello di Lamole is produced by the Fattoria di Lamole winery, which has been owned by the Socci family for centuries and comes from grapes grown on the slopes of the historic and homonymous Castle. The winery is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, in Greve in Chianti, in the province of Florence. Lamole is a small area on the slopes of Monte San Michele, where the Lamulae have been called the plots of flat land on a steep slope for centuries.

It is a pure Sangiovese whose grapes are vinified in steel or concrete tanks, where they remain for 12 months. Subsequently the wine continues aging in exhausted French barriques for 12-24 months, which continues in the bottle for another 12 months.

Ruby red in color with garnet reflections, it has a nose reminiscent of violet, cherry and red plum, as well as delicate spices. The sip is broad, fine and balanced, with elegant tannins and a long persistence.

It is an excellent wine paired with important meat dishes, both stewed and roasted, including game. Excellent in combination with artfully cooked Florentine.
