Chianti Rufina DOCG San Giuliano 2015 Marchesi Gondi
Description
The Chianti Rùfina San Giuliano dei Marchesi Gondi was born on the Villa Bossi estate in the splendid hilly area of Tuscany. The name is taken from the grandfather of the current owners who was one of the founders of the Chianti wine consortium.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes, and with Colorino and Merlot grapes, harvested and selected by hand in the period from late September to early October. After fermentation at controlled temperature in vats, the wine ages for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels and then for a further 3 months in bottle.
Chianti Rùfina San Giuliano is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with intense sweet hints of strawberry and crisp cherry, enriched with elegant notes of violet and a slightly vanilla finish, with slight hints of black pepper. On the palate it is initially soft and full. Subsequently, however, a remarkable freshness and a pleasant tannic consistency emerge.
Perfect to serve with tagliatelle with meat sauce or aged cheeses, it is excellent to combine with roast pork in the oven and with all white meat recipes.
