Description
The Colli Maceratesi Almajano reserve of Villa Forano was born in vineyards located on the hills of Appignano, in the province of Macerata.
It is produced with Sangiovese, Vernaccia Nera and Lacrima grapes, selected and harvested by hand in the second decade of October. After the crushing-destemming, the grapes ferment in oak vats with temperature pilotage; fulling and maceration last for about 30 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine is placed in oak barrels where it ages for at least 24 months, then once bottled it refines for 8 months high.
Almajano has a deep ruby red color with light garnet reflections. The nose is intense, with pleasantly spicy aromas which subsequently leave room for sensations of small red fruits in alcohol and light floral notes. In the mouth it is dry, rich and voluminous, with a great structure and pleasant softness, with a long and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany tasty and structured dishes, it is ideal in combination with red meats, game, cold cuts and aged cheeses.
