Description
Picolit is produced by the RoncSoleri company, located in the Friulian Collio and precisely in Prepotto, in the Borgo di Novacuzzo, a stone's throw from Cividale and not far from the border with Slovenia. "RoncSoleri" in Friulian means the "hill of the sun".
The Picolit grapes, a native Friulian white grape, are first of all de-stemmed and then softly pressed and fermented in wood. The refinement takes place in barriques for 24 months, to conclude with another 24 months in the bottle.
Golden yellow in color, it is expressed on the nose with aromas of fruit such as apricot, pineapple and tangerine peel. The sip is warm and aromatic, with a very persistent finish.
Excellent with dry pastries and blue cheeses.
